Blackstone-backed Tamarind Energy is believed to be eyeing a suite of Santos assets. Tamarind recently received documents relating to the planned sale of several projects in Asia and is seen chasing developments in Vietnam, Malaysia and Indonesia that could be worth as much as $700 million.

Santos’ WA assets have also been flagged for a potential sale, with Macquarie-Brookfield JV Quadrant Energy seen as the most logical suitor, while private equity giant KKR is also rumoured to be lurking.

Also in energy, questions continue to linger around Woodside’s proposed $11.6 billion play for Oil Search, with key shareholders in the suitor worried by a bidding war and key stakeholders in the target adamant the offer undervalues Oil Search’s growth potential.
