Over the last few years analysts have often believed St George would merge with SUN, now with SUN's undeperformance relative to the market, one has to wonder when the real deal will Occur.
My thoughts are as follows St George and QBE to team up St goerge taking the banking QBE the insurance.
St George get the Queensland growth they are after and QBE get to consoldate further their hold on the general insurance market.
QBE have publicly stated that they are looking for underperformance by Australian insurers to be a catalyst.
St George would move further up the food chain only now needing to increase exposure to Victoria and Western Australia before it really could be a the 5th major Seems like a win for both sides
