    Even if "ENGINEERLIVE" has published an article to that effect, I note that recent statements from India's political leaders and as reported in our own media are indicating the phasing out of coal imports within a few years and the encouragement of lower emission technologies including solar energy solutions:

    "... The report by Tim Buckley, director of Australasian energy finance at the Institute for Energy Economics and Financial Analysis, says the Modi government's bold renewable energy and coal production goals could mean there would be no need for thermal coal imports beyond 2021. ..."
