Why? Gold is very liquid in areas of agricultural subsistence, sub-standard banking, and community organisation. E.g. rural India. When trust is lost, gold and silver will come to the fore. ISIS want their caliphate to only trade in gold and silver currency - similar structure of low level community organisation.

With gold, you'll get more beans and ammo. There will be organisation within failure. We are not talking a zombie apocalypse here.

Personally, I don't side with the dooms-dayers, the whole vibe of it just doesn't suit my life plans.
