Manipulation definitely exists, in both directions. Classical during a distribution phase of a SP's movement the SP can be manipulated upwards buy fake bids or real buying to drive the price upwards.
You're sort of right though Basileus. If it does exist I truly believe that we would be unlikely to pick it. Sometimes it seems obvious but maybe it isn't manipulation, or maybe they want you to see it? Who knows really. It's why depth can be such a poor indicator of future movements.
It certainly makes a great excuse for poor trading, I've probably been guilty of it before too.... What is evident here though is some decent accumulation seems to be happening, and perhaps some games being played to suppress any big upward movements. Now this could look a lot like distribution too but it doesn't feel or look like that right now. Is there seriously no one reading this thread that could put some broker data up for the last week or two to help decide?
