good question, I'm not an expert on rock mechanics, but I think there is not much difference regarding the popping or spawling of the granite, whether it has been stimulated or not, I think it appears to be just more prevalent at depth.
Hab-1 did have problems at the lower depths, but they were all dealt with as they came along, and there was no catastrophe.
Hab-2 had problems too, primarily the parting of the drill string, but the side track well was drilled sucessfully
I don't think the stimulation had too much bearing on it.
The problem with encountering pressurised water from here onwards is managable with the snubbing unit as it is designed for dealing with these situations. But any problem encountered such as fishing is going to be trickier, manageable but expensive.
The good news is that nearly 90 ft of new hole had been dug yesterday. I'm guessing they may pull out the bit today, if so they should be drilling again by Monday morning.
