As you said CFD trading is generally not gambling, but this is only one trade and I've spoken to accountants before and they seem to base it on whether you are carrying on a business as a trader not making the occasional speculative investment. Granted this was a couple years back so things may have changed. But of course, I wont doubt you the self appointed king of taxation who doesn't want us petty fools to offer any opinion. But i will say it again. not all CFD trading is taxable go to the IG markets site they advice spread betting and other markets as being CGT free.
