    Totally agree Tatts..

I don't think anyone can deny that electric cars are the future and that Lithium will be the battery of choice for cars.

What people haven't got their head around is how these cars will be charged. In an ideal work we will want to charge our cars as quickly as we can refuel at a service station. Unfortunately the laws of physics don't allow this to happen at many locations with our current power grid infrastructure.

IMHO these cars will be charged from another battery - this will allow massive amounts of current to be transferred to the car battery resulting in a very fast charge. These 'charging' batteries can either be trickle charged from cheap off peak power or from a renewable source such as solar. Going forward having a battery in the average house will make total sense as solar panel technology improves, in the near future solar panels will generate twice as much power per M2 of panel due to panel efficiency improvements. This will enable us to easily power our houses and cars with free solar energy.

I believe that Vanadium battery manufactures will capture a massive share of this business due to their cost advantage over lithium but more importantly their great lifespan of 20,000 cycles.

    Exciting times ahead!
