They were/are not smart enough to know what they are doing. Big on hype and spending shareholders funds but no business acumen whatever. Interpret 'business acumen' as 'the ability to lead and manage a business to achieve at least a saticfacory return on shareholders funds'. Imagineering should have been a big warning signal to everybody.
