Not really, most of them are un-liveable and well outside the CBD. Would cost more to rebuild & make them liveable than buy something new in most cases. Basically left behind as elderly people have passed away and their children simple don't desire to live in that area and no point renovating as they would sell for virtually nothing.

Completely irrelevant to Aus as we simply don't have the same demographics which desire to always live within x kms of the CBD in a unit.
