Morrison only had to agree with the Sales' theme - the budget has BOTH a spending and a revenue problem - to cover his behind and all bases; but Nooooo, the Libs belief in being combative just for the sake of being anti may have got him into trouble just as his new career has begun.

It is no secret that Morrison has sought the advice of Costello - hence his persistence in denying there is a revenue problem - simply because that would be an admission that Howard/Costello tax cuts have cursed future budgets - as well as fuelling cries "taxes are rising! taxes are rising!".

Turnbull and Morrison - same sh-t sandwich; just in a different wrapper.

The big question is: how will the Fiberals patch the hole in their Howard/Costello plan to provide tax cuts just before an election if they are unable to raise money by increasing the GST?.
