But 53-year-old Ms Panton, who was left alone to run the 11ha family winery on Mornington Peninsula when she and Mr Panton divorced five years ago, clearly didn’t give a flying pinot noir about him squiring Ms Bishop around Manhattan’s corridors of power.

Speaking for the first time, the mother of three even graciously gave the glamour couple her blessing.
