the way you reach your conclusion is faulty Janitmot. Clearly overall murder rates, gun homicides and other gun related deaths in the US is waaaaay over the top compared to Australia. They are pro gun and we have tight regulation. So what you have done is to go "well yes but let's leave the US out of this and look at Switzerland who also have high rates of gun ownership instead. Whilst their gun homicides and other gun deaths are much higher than Australia and the UK their overall murder rate is lower than Australia's so therefore banning guns in the US would have no effect on their overall homicide and suicide rate"........?????
That sounds very much like an anomaly to me. There could be a number of reasons why switzerland has a lower murder rate than Australia. It could be that we have larger populations of ethnic minorities which form into gangs such as second generation Vietnamese from the Vietnam war and/or Islander and Polynesian gangs. Maybe there are other reasons.....but to totally exclude the US because it doesn't suit your argument and replacing it with Switzerland who only have the one anomaly of overall lower homicide rates is, in my humble opinion, manipulating the data to the absolute max.
