Looks like STO thought the same thing and are selling Papua New Guinea LNG venture. Positive for market based on Share price response

Santos is understood to have told some parties interested in its Asian portfolio that the sale process has been slowed, implying it is focusing - in the short term  - on offloading a different asset that would bring in a more material sum.

The Asian business, that includes Indonesia, Vietnam and Malaysia, is only expected to bring in a few hundred million dollars, not enough to shift the dial on the company's debt burden.

While the debt-laden oil and gas player is still interested in a sale, it appears to be directing its immediate efforts on a more meaningful sale, potentially part of its stake in the Papua New Guinea LNG venture.
Meanwhile strong gains the past two days on the market have lifted Santos's shares to $5.50, well off the uncomfortable sub-$4  level of late last week.
