In today's Greenland weekly 'Sermitsiaq', several articles deal with the issue of uranium. The Prime Minister of Denmark is quoted as saying that in February, a new law will ensure that uranium from Greenland will not benefit illegal weaponry and terrorist organizations. Although Greenland is sovereign in the production and export of natural resources, Denmark is responsible for security and foreign policy, related to Greenland.
The CEO of GMEL, Mr Mair, on Tuesday in Copenhagen declared that a mining license application will be submitted around New Year.
