Right on LKwan, There has not been a real property bust in W.A. for a long time but it is about to happen sometime soon. The fundamentals are that W.A. has more land per capita than just about anywhere on earth, BUT, W.A.'s poor inhabitants pay more than just about anywhere on earth (certainly in terms of average salary, but now it is also very expensive in straight dollar terms) . I would love to know how this strange equation has been working and who is to blame, (State Govt, developers, the real estate business?) , where the most greed resides ?
W.A. also has a number of other unhealthy situations. They are the only state that still allows false (vendor ) bidding at auctions. I have seen first hand some of the undesirable repercussions of this deceitful practice. I don't think it is allowed anywhere else in the world but I could be wrong.
The West Australian newspaper no longer has any worthwhile investigative journos, and may not be interested in upsetting their biggest source of revenue (development and real estate advertising).
There will be a bust and it will get ugly.
    Occam
