It is being reported out of Holland that a Dutch chemical group's Animal Health Unit known as Intervet has manufactured a Bird Flu vaccine that can be sprayed instead of injected, making it possible to spray a vast amount of the population at once. The drug is still in its stages of development and the company hopes to undergo clinical trials sometime next year.
The company released a statement, discussing their new product that has the potential to save millions of dollars and millions of lives: "The prototype combines the efficacy of the present vaccines with a mass application tool and could prove invaluable in helping to quickly protect large numbers of birds, which currently have to be injected individually."
