I find it interesting when people mention that they have known or been close friends with people who have been so desperate as to take their own lives. The suicides say more about the friends than the victims in my opinion. I reject the view that most of these people are nutters. The old concept that when things get tough you find out who your friends are is very true.

When people you know are suffering enormous despair do you contact them every day to give moral support, give them money if they have financial troubles or perhaps actively assist them to find help? Alternatively, do you catch up with them for a coffee twice a year and then walk away naively thinking you have been of support when they are in constant darkness?

I agree that making a comment about this suicide to ORG shareholders is spreading the blame a little too wide but the hardship that ORG caused that guy may very well have pushed him over the edge? However, we do not know the details.
