Who knows-I look at Sydney's $1m median and think that's high, people from Adelaide probably look at Melbournes median and think that's high.
I do personally think Sydney is too high when the average family can't get a house for under $500k within cooee of the city-it says to me a lot of average wages are paying a lot. In Melbourne though it's more spread out-houses in the burbs 30km from the city are still available in the 3's. Sure closer to the city is more expensive but the people in these areas typically can afford it.
