"I was under the impression the the DoD was more about specifying Alexium as the standard. Does that count as a "contract"? To my mind that is policy.

A contract would be between Alexium and whatever company is supplying the Ny/Co material to the military. "

    Hi Dis,

If it is Natick - it won't be a contract. Unless you sell destroyers or fighters or similar - as far as I know the military doesn't buy stuff from anyone.

What it will be is an 'award'.

It won't be a standard - it will be a specification (my word) - and, the specification will say to prime contractors -- you will use Alexium FR on your products that you supply.

There might be some small contract with a military organisation for ??? God knows - but, the important bit will be the award.

It will be odds on for a large trial (very large by our revenue standards) and then a full roll out -

the actual real dollar contracts will be with suppliers of military uniforms.

I thought at one stage we might supply material - but, we won't - we will just supply the chemistry from what I understand.

So - our orders will be guaranteed that we will supply - as long as this is the 'award' we have been expecting.

What we will have to guess at - unless Nick can put it in the ann. is the dollar figure - but, gee, I strongly suspect that will be secret.

Luckily we can have a pretty good guess - muppet's figure this morning I think was close to the mark - but, that will be from memory - army, marine, air force and navy.

My back of the napkin memories come up with 20 to 30 million US for the Army (half for the trial) - then give or take say 60 to 100 but probably closer to 100 million for all services plus then unknown things like Iraq (which they have allowed for) and some rebel groups (which they have allowed for) - then, I suspect things like Coast Guard and probably National guard as well.
hmmmmm, I think the all up going around somewhere in the past was about 260 ish 270 ish million - don't hold me to that one though. (?? I can't remember if that inclued NATO or not).

Too many zero's - too little time

Either way - that's the guts of the idea from rough memory.

This is only one step (although a big one) in the process.

The really really really big news is that once you are an official supplier - then you are seen in different eyes --------------- and, in the coming future ------------ not soon enough to not make us all very rich - but, in the coming years -------- the real income from military will be through materials - not in uniforms ---------- in things like material for planes, trucks tanks and - wait for it ---------------------- ROBOTS and EXOSKELETONS

That is where the future lies - and AJX will be front and centre - right up there as a specialist supplier.

And, if people think that selling fire retardant juicy shirts is a big deal - wait until they see the revenue for exoskeletons

Oh, I am having a Toyota moment
