Could it be that the SOX2 will be the next targeted oncogenic transcription factor? (See first link, p.6).
SOX2 is implicated in the development of tamoxifen resistance in breast cancer. Inhibiting SOX2 has been found to not only reduce the size of the breast cancer stem cell population, but also to restore tamoxifen sensitivity.
