from july and a couple of points to note;
from the article
Xped shipped 250 units of its ADRC module to a group of developers, ranging from hobbyists to universities and corporates, who use a platform called Arduino – described by Schultz as “the Lego of electronics” – to build electronic devices.
& from the discussion below with CEO
re Apple app Homekit:
How does it stack up against Apple HomeKit? That's currently available globally on hundreds of millions of mobile phones and many products incorporating it are being released.
Xped ADRC Technology Home Kit is great if you have an iPhone.
ADRC technology is working on Android phones right now which represent 70% of all smartphones globally. We are currently working on an iOS version for the iPhone 6 which is the iPhone that Apple finally put NFC in to. So it's on the way.
The point of ADRC is that it is platform and brand agnostic so it can be incorporated in all devices and phones not just those made by one manufacturer.
and on security
How hackable is this chip? Can a person standing at your front door control your lights, compuuter, TV, security system? I can understand the big player's reluctance at that early stage of development - did they mention this as a potential problem? Just how secure is it?
John Schultz
Security is a flagship benefit of our system.
We have architected security into the system from the start, not added it as a quick
afterthought. This is one aspect the big players like.
