My guess is that Altech's deal with Mitsubishi means it was dealing from a position of strength when the renegotiation came up. I can't quite figure out why Dana didn't go with the original plan: from their point of view maybe just stumping up the cash is easier from an accounting perspective.
Need to read the ann more closely but it just looks like good news at the moment.
