Can I just say, damn those DP thrusters are good! Maintaining the bow of a 200m drillship in position on the open sea with a drillstring hanging down within a 5m radius is a very impressive example of control system engineering IMO.
And consider that the bulk of that reported position variation is in the GPS system on the AIS transponder anyway.
