I think it would be more accurate to say its more dangerous to fly to and from any warlike nation, particularly Commonwealth, US or CIS nations.
Is it more dangerous to fly to and from places like Zambia? Tanzania? Kenya? Of course not. Unless maybe... you are flying to the UK or Russia from those places.
