The number of driverless cars on our roads are going to be small so why should all the other motorists pay for the installation of technology which they will not be using.
It appears to be the normal thing these days for a company to ask for governments IE taxpayers to pay some of the development costs for their new directions so they can n make a bigger profit.
What does the average taxpayer get for the cost that the government puts in - NOTHING
If it is such a great idea why can't the companies pay for the cost of altering the roads to suit their cars

Installation of what technology? All the tech is in the cars. The govt. doesn't provide a thing. The article says that more bandwidth will be needed - but I don't recall govts doing that for TomToms and Garmin GPS systems.
