    The question I would like to see answered is..." why go for a placement at this time, rather than a rights issue?"
    No doubt the answer will be that costs associated with a rights issue would have been too high.
    However, subsequent events suggest that a rights issue e.g 1 for 4 at 20 cents, would have kept the share price up and even encouraged option holders to convert a bit earlier, thus offsetting the higher costs?
    Still, we have to keep those sophisticated investors happy with cheap placement shares; non-sophisticated investors like me who bought long ago and have watched the sp tumble obviously don't deserve largesse in the form of a rights issue!!
    Having said that, I still hold in the hope of a quick takeoff before oppies have to be converted in December. It just needs one good announcement to send this one into orbit and I'm disappointed we haven't had that big announcement before directors contemplated a placement.
    Perhaps it means they don't have a big announcement planned for some time, meaning the ducks are not lined up afterall?
