To Reach $25b
TEHRAN, June 24--A trade official said on Saturday annual trade exchanges between Iran and China will increase to $25 billion in 2025, according to the 20-Year Vision.
Jamshid Edalatiyan, head of Iran-China Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Mines, added that bilateral trade is predicted to reach $12 billion by 2010, Mehr News Agency reported.
“By March 2008, bilateral trade will exceed $11 billion,“ he said, noting that last year bilateral trade amounted to $10.5 billion.
The official stressed that expansion of bilateral trade is in the interest of Iran.
“In recent years, of the total trade volume, 58 to 62 percent pertained to Iran’s exports,“ he said.
Referring to President Mahmoud Ahamdinejad’s recent participation in the summit of Shanghai Cooperation Organization in China, he said, “During this visit, expansion of mutual bonds was underlined.“
Edalatiyan emphasized that measures must be adopted to prevent the illegal entry of Chinese products to Iran.
