Barry Evans moves from Virgin Mobile to bolster engin team
Sydney, 15 May 2006: engin, Australia’s leading broadband phone company, has
appointed Barry Evans as Chief Operating Officer, following his successful tenure as
Chief Operating Officer at Virgin Mobile Australia since 2000. In his new role Evans
will be driving the engineering, IT, change management, logistics and operational
aspects of the engin business.
Evans has over 20 years experience in the international technology industry
spanning Australia, the United States and the United Kingdom. His successful
leadership over the last six years as a founding member of Virgin Mobile Australia
resulted in building Virgin Mobile’s phone venture from a true start-up position to one
of the market leaders in Australia’s mobile phone sector. Evans will report to Ilkka
Tales, Chief Executive Officer, engin.
