From my background as a Structural Civil Engineer in Sydney, I have been thinking that perhaps the mining characteristics might become better out in the Tanami as we go deeper into less weathered and maybe harder rock.
From the ABM announcement on 20th November "....... and difficulty in cleanly excavating relatively narrow mineralised quartz veins from within fresh, blasted rock."
So if the explosive was more "high frequency" and with less low-frequency heave, would there be better shattering into smaller pieces in-situ so as to improve the mining characteristics?
Perhaps a question for the meeting ? Any thoughts Bob Miner?
