I read an article in the print edition of The International New York Times not so long ago (days to a week - I can't remember exactly when I read it) that reported a warning from the Turkish government to the Russian government to 'stop bombing Turkmen villages along the Turkey-Syria border or suffer serious consequences.'

Consequences like getting shot down irrespective of whether Turkey's airspace has been violated or not?
