'Chief executive Danny Gladstone said the market had over-reacted, noting Mr Clarebrough would stay with the Sydney-based company for a further 12 months and may also be used in an advisory role following his official departure.

"To use a football analogy, he's been coaching for the last five or six years and he's got some very good people who he has acted as a mentor to," Mr Gladstone told Fairfax Media. "But there is a solid plan for the rollout of games and we have a 45-strong design team who are working on that."

The company's shares recovered some ground in late trading and closed down 11 per cent to $2.35 giving it a market capitalisation of $773 million.

Mr Clarebrough helped to develop the company's Showgirls and The Sound of Music games in recent years.'
