I had the procedure done back in 2001 at Vision Eye Institute in Bondi Juction. Patrick Versace was the surgeon. Very straightforward, no issues and the next day I could see fine. At the time it was expensive (about $3500 I think) but considering what I spent on glasses and contacts it would pay for itself after a few years.
It will take a consultation to tell you if you are suitable for the procedure. When I had it done there was the requirement for your corneas to be of a certain thickness but I'm not sure if this is still applicable as the technology has advanced somewhat.
