A lot has been made of the alleged violation of Turkish airspace by Russian warplanes, or at least the warplane that was shot down. If it was as Turkey claims and the Russian warplane in question really did violate Turkish airspace then perhaps the Turks could practice what they preach.

    What am I talking about?

Consider the behaviour of Turkey's own airforce in relation to Greece. Turkish warplanes violate Greek airspace thousands of times a year. In fact they flew in a formation of 6 on a single day in July this year in which they violated Greek airspace in three regions a total of 20 times on that one day alone, and in January of 2014 alone they violated Greek airspace 1017 times!

Perhaps the next time a Turkish warplane violates Greek airspace the Greek airforce could take a leaf out of Turkey's own playbook and shoot it down?!

It would send Turkey a message, don't be hypocritical. If you don't want other countries' warplanes flying in your airspace then don't fly in other country's airspace and if you go ahead and shoot down warplanes that do enter your airspace, regardless of the duration, then you can expect the same treatment of your own warplanes whenever they violate other countries' airspace.

The world has created a monster here. It's no wonder Turkey thinks it can act with impunity on the world stage. They have never been called to account for their genocide of the Armenians, nor for the ongoing genocide of the Kurds, nor for their invasion of Cyprus, nor for their support of ISIS, nor for the continued bombing of the Kurds who are fighting ISIS on the ground, nor for their support for Uighur terrorist actions in China and to top it all off they are a member of NATO who continues to bribe the EU for billions of euros in aid and an accelerated process for ascension to the EU in return for turning off the tap re: the flow of refugees into Europe.

Turkey seemingly has the West wrapped around its little finger who supports it through thick and thin regardless of its actions as one of the worst actors on the world stage over the past 100 years.
