Yes, volcanic activity is important to Earth's ecosystem. It contributes to the baseline greenhouse effect. What happens when human emissions are added on top of that effect? Higher ambient temperature? Or does the atmosphere know the difference between a human methan molecule and a volcanic methan molecule?

It's bugger all in the scheme of things - however, just make sure you haven't got a compost heap at the bottom your fairy laden garden - what a load of tripe!
