Dr. Alan Finkel was introduced last month by Malcolm Turnbull as Australia's incoming Chief Scientist.
Dr. Finkel was a director of Optiscan from 1998 to 2002. Current directors Peter Delaney and Bruce Andrew were part of Optiscan during this period and no doubt had a close working relationship with Dr. Finkel.

So how hard would it have been for a phone call to be made to Dr. Finkel? And without extending old mates favours seek a letter of introduction to a Treasury Official to give attention to processing Optiscan's R. & D. claim.

As Chief Scientist it would be reasonable to see that companies engaged in medical and scientific research should be able to go about their business in an orderly manner and not have to resort to last minute alternate funding (no doubt with the down sides attached to it). Letters of introduction are not about giving lurks and perks but would allow the bearer of such to gain a personal contact and hopefully expedite their matter that was needing attention.

I thought that with a new "experienced" appointment on the Board we would gain some business-like way of doing things .... maybe not so..

I've changed my sentiment. Bugg...d if I know.
