I dont know much about the earths magnet field but we used magnetic induction in the steel factory to keep the aluminium and zinc in a molten state in the molten metal pots used for galvanising.
I wonder if the earths magnetic field is like a giant magnetic inductor keeping the core of the earth molten?
This is a simple experiment with magnetic induction heating.
