Florida is basically a swamp so it's not unrealistic to think it's probably sinking.
A couple of years ago a retired maritime surveyor wrote a letter to the Northern Star re water levels rising. He had monitored sea levels right along the East Coast of Australia and in working lifetime of over 40 years no increase in sea levels had occurred above a couple of mm. His view was that sea levels are not rising.
He contributed his letter in response to the doom articles that had been written re coastal areas being inundated. I guess while Tim Flannery and Julia Gillard continue to purchase waterfront property there really is nothing to worry about.
