Well micro , although coal bed methane is a little different to everyday gas drilling,my understanding is that the reserves are not even comparable. Having said that CSM gas is reliant on a larger number of wells running concurrently as flows are much slower than with traditional natural gas wells. Having said that the rigs are smaller, cheaper and more mobile than with traditional gas production.
ECU is currently re-mapping their field to come up with more definite figures but if what Enron thought is any indication then we are talking many.many TRILLIONS of cuft of gas. Will be interesting to see how MOS performs relative to ECU but both seem to be doing well.
Cheers,
Ed.
