"Magna will then be entitled to receive a 7.5% of gross revenue royalty for the life of the Kurnool plant"
A contract is just that so no getting around it.
As above it specifies plant, Magna get 7.5% from the " Kurnool plant" and only that plant, not the site. So in theory without any specific lock out clause (which is unknown) they could construct more plants at the same site and only pay royalty for the life of the first plant.
Any luck they bought a cheap one with a short life to last just long enough to build a proper one
It does bother me that people want to complain about paying royalties and fees and oppies for the very thing that may just be the beginning of a huge enterprise. You don't have to like it but you have to play ball when your starting out and the big boys are calling the shots. It sucks but I'll take 92.5% of something over 100% of nothing any day.
Don't forget its just a start point, all going to plan there is bigger things to come with hopefully far less strings attached.
Bring on the wet plant and the 92.5%, the sooner the better.
Rant over.
