In response to my queries, Vicki had the following to say:

Has Antares agreed to the request for extension:
(if not, by what date must Antares inform the purchaser of its decision)
(if yes, what is the agreed date of extension)
Still in the process of agreeing (or not agreeing) to the request for extension and the discussion is now with the Board and lawyers.

Do the amendments to the transaction documents include amendments to the purchase price. (If so, are these likely to be favorable or unfavorable movements).
Unable to confirm what amendments to the transaction document are being made.

Define 'outcome of negotiations' (referred to in the announcement). Is the outcome (following which an announcement will be made to market) the deal completion, the agreement of an extended purchase and sale, or simply the agreement to accept the request for extension.
An announcement is expected to be made to the market in the next couple of days regarding the outcome of negotiations (being the amendments to the transaction documents and the agreement (or non-agreement) for the request for extension).

Based on my conversation and the fact that lawyers are now involved, I think the likely scenario is that an announcement will be made to the market in the next few days that the deal has been cancelled. I believe this is further supported by the fact that she was no longer willing to make any comment when asked about whether or not the deal was likely to go ahead. Given that I was told to expect an announcement in the next couple of days, I suggest we all place our selves in the brace position and prepare to crash.
