Andy, that is why companies try to use forecasts. It is based on an opinion of what the future lies to plot a strategy. If they got it wrong then that is the way the world operates, winners and losers. Still looking for a good, clean and clear crystal ball.

As you know when IOP was in the $12-15 range many moons ago and BHP had a revolving door CEOs chair, they survived that cyclical down turn and investors had suffered some years of pain. Hazy details as I was not an active investor then.

I have not much doubt BHP will survive and it is a matter of how much valuation destruction at the mercy of the demand of IO. Those who can't take the heat of cyclical resource industry after complacency of the great Chinese boom usually tries to find scapegoats like what Twiggy has been continually complaining publicly. It is his right but he does it so convincingly turning hypocrisy to his strength and steam roll diehards to his charitable causes. Generation 1 followed by latest attempt uniting all religion to his pet fight on slavery. Great causes indeed but is it instigated with the right reasons?
