The point is - no higher mammals produce A1 for millions of years until a point mutation occurred a few thousand years ago. That is suffix to say that no mammals have learnt to handle A1 protein during evolution. Thus the aberrant breakdown product of A1 - an opioid/morphine like substance (having an opioid like substance in your gut can't be good for you). Also given A1 and A2 differs only at a point mutation, if nature had intended (that A1 was actually good for you) there would have been plenty of time during evolution to have A1 rather than A2 (protein structure fixed by evolution occurred for a reason), and that all mammals should have A1. But that was not the case. Only recently (in evolution term) A1 started, and that is a mutation preserved by human maintaining the cow herds - one would wonder if they were in the wild whether the A1 mutation could have survived. I used to think this A2 business is a scam, before I did my research. But now after reading the research and also the attempt of vested interest to kill of the debate, I am converted.
