Several months ago I read an essay which gave the results of a survey taken of brokers recommendations over a three year period.

Of the 75 brokers surveyed, only 4 of them had called a stock price accurately to within a 15% of their prediction. And astonishingly, only 18 of them had accurately predicted whether a stock would go up or down over the course of a year.

You would get better results flipping a coin.
