Why?
For US LNG non-FTA export approvals have been forthcoming. Given the recent rout in oil and gas prices in the US I cant think the US DOE process is going to change. In fact the House of Reps recently passed an energy bill requiring the DOE to process non-FTA approvals within a month of environmental clearances being received and passed this onto the Senate for approval.
So currently there is no real impediment to US exports to Europe of LNG.
The fact Europe is pushing hard for energy to be included in a free trade agreement with the US jsut shows you how much they want the US as their energy supplier for all the obvious reasons.
