That was not vilify, just pointing out a fact. Which is more blasphemous showing you hair and/or face in public or eating food not killed a 'humane' way? If you want to be that religious then either go all the way or none especially when one is demonstrating their faith so publicly.
I also ask my vegetarian friends if they also go out of their ways to purchase leather belts and shoes, specifically those that refrain from eating meat based on a principle.
Lastweek Lateline interviewed a French Muslim ( can't recall his name) who was actively campaigning against the radicalization of Islam in general. He has taken a jihad against ISIS, an Algerian born French naturalized citizen he went on to comment that the hijab is not in the Koran. It was a tribal culture in certain parts of the Islamic world among other things. I suggest you try to watch it.
Ever wonder why Attarturk banned this head gear? Why did he try to align the society of Turkey to the west? Why did he change his society to be secular, abandon sharia law, allows eating in Ramadan if one choose to and so on.
You sound like a person who would defend the right of, for example a person to wear a traditional Islamic outfit, caps and big massive beard and preach hatred as long as they are not living next door? Would you also support a junkie living next door?
We are living in a modern open society, freedom of speech etc. all the comforts of expressions and multiculturalism and if that is not the attractions to live in this country, why come in the first place? Wahhabism is actively encouraged 100% in Saudis Arabia so I would have thought the ideal society to live? Do you see me trying to get on a boat or plane heading for Riyadh then when comfortably settled demands that society allows my wife to wear normal clothes? Not revealing ones, just normal Christian clothes that one goes to church with?
Do you see Hindus, Sikhs, Buddhist or any other religion goes out of their way to force mainstream oz society to bend to their religious culture ? Do you see other than Muslims complain about how their religion were always often prejudiced against for instance Dalai Lama to the point Buddhist followers go out of their way to bomb and kill Chinese? It happens regarding Daila lama but a very small scale that I have yet to hear in the media.
Go to a website called Top Documentaries and in there you can see the topic on religion. Plenty on jihad and how they intend on taking the world. The concept is similar to communism, Revolution is from within a country or society. Fascinating stuff but even though I take it with a pinch of salt, the behavior of a big minority of ozzies living in Lakemba and Paramatta speaks the language of intolerance.
