Stocks set to revive
U.S. markets are poised for a higher start after two sessions of declines as oil backs off record high.

NEW YORK -- A rebound may be in the works for U.S. stocks Thursday as oil eased from its record high close above $75 a barrel.

At 7:30 a.m. ET, Nasdaq and S&P futures were higher, pointing to a higher start for Wall Street.


All three major gauges slumped Wednesday, led by tech stocks, as oil hit an intraday record of $75.40, North Korea launched missiles in what was seen as a further threat to east Asian stability, and fears of more interest rate hikes were rekindled.

Investors will be looking to the latest report on new claims for jobless aid due out at 8:30 a.m. for more clues on the Fed's next move.
