The dow has not held 8500. This has to be negative for the near term. The $US is down and down. The only thing that US are looking forward to now are the tax cuts from Bush, if they get through. Even then it is only going to be a portion of what he wanted.
The Japanese have been trying for the last 10 years to prime the economy. They have failed.
Can the US learn anything from that?
