Running the app would be a 'nice to have' rather than a 'need to have' at this stage. Down the line, when we have the whole of the UK covered in these sensors both on an off-street, then it would make sense to make a 'one stop shop' app for it - currently though we only have a few councils dispersed across the country.
Prime testing ground would be New Zealand, though. They have basically covered the main centres and places such as New Plymouth (where I lived for a short time) have them even on residential streets. Would be a good opportunity to see if that moat effect is worth the capital outlay.
