Coming from a technical background, the barriers to entry in this field are very thin. Stronger competitors like realestate.com.au, domain etc would have no troubles tweaking their sites to capture this supposed 'gap' in the market. They already have this functionality in their websites, they just need to expand on it. Sorry to say but rent.com.au is at a major disadvantage here, it's like watching a cripple running a race with primed athletes.
This is my opinion anyway, hoping it recovers for everyone involved.
